My wife, daughter and I had the pleasure of going by this new fishing and bait camp this past weekend. Even though it was not officially open, the owners (Trip & Donna) made us feel welcome. This fishing and bait camp have a lot of potential and once completed should be on the top of your fishing hole list if you have a family that enjoys fishing in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable location. Though the trip there and back was a little long due to the Bolivar ferry wait, it was definitely worth the inconvenience to rest and drown some mullets in this place. The fishing was a little slow but I attribute that to the tide being out and the flounder run having passed a few weeks before. I did not try my luck wade fishing but plan on doing so my next time there. The mullet and mudfish were fresh (caught right there) and the price was definitely reasonable ($3 per doz. for either). Other baitcamps in the area should take note that they have some good competition here and stop trying to take advantage of the fishermen that patronize the Bolivar pennisula. I for one look forward to returning to Bayside numerous times in the future. Tight lines to all and to all a good fight.
