Albackore TBCO
Posted by R Clare on Monday, 29-Apr-2002 at 22:12:27
Nice design for a light weight utility bag. Like the concept of the rod holders built in but don't see how they would support an actual rod/reel.

The rod/tool holders were originally designed for holding freshwater rods (broken down) and reels while you pack into a nearby lake. Some people have found that they can also hold lightweight (up to 20lb test) saltwater rods for a short period of time.

Hi Dave, based on current demand, we have delayed the rollout of the larger Albackore bag. We will be introducing a smaller, lighter bag in August.

My New Bag
Posted by Dennis Evans on Monday, 22-Apr-2002 at 17:11:48
I Love IT!!! My hands are finally free to carry other things, the backpack straps are the best!! The rod holder is great for use when setting up my rod and there is limited space. When the rod is not in the holder, my pliers are in there. The cooler works great to bring the stash (Candy bars, sandwich) on the boats that don't allow coolers. All in all, it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I look forward to your new inventive products.

Albackore Bag

This bag is the best thing I've seen on the market. My only wish is that the cooler bag was a little easier to strap on top.

Albakore bag
Posted by Joel Nussbaum on Saturday, 23-Mar-2002 at 22:50:19
Your bag is a definate improvement in tackle carrying. The
improvements that I would recommend are: add a quart size water
bottle holder. Add a rain/spray cover. Make bags in other
colors for easier identificaton and finally add a place
to put your name and address or business card on the
outside for identification.

Hi Joel,

We are making some improvements to the Albackore bag and it will be introduced in June as the Albackore II. Several new features will be added. We also have some new accessories coming out this summer that will address your needs.

Modifaction
Posted by Larry Martinez on Wednesday, 20-Mar-2002 at 14:43:32
Hi Jeff,
This bag is great but I think it can be improved in one way. When you use the bag as a backpack the lower edge of the frame is sharp and digs into your back. Is it possible to insert some kind of padding around that frame edge for confort?
I plan on looking at some ways to ease the pain it causes on the lower back this weekend. I plan on taking it to the Sierras in the begining of April when I am up there working. At that time I will give you the result of the functionality of the bag.

BTW- I wouldn't mind being a beta testing for any of your products.

Hi Larry, Thanks for the info. A few other people requested a padding on the back as well. The bag was not designed to travel for far distances. Mainly from your car to the landing, boat, lake, or shore. I will look into adding this improvement to the bag in the future. Thanks! Jeff

Albackore Bags

I am really impressed with the craftsmanship. The bag is extrememly durable. It is ideal for short trips and could even be used for longer trips too! Oh yeah, at $75.00 it's a bargain. If you are looking for a versatile, durable, and economical tackle box give the Albackore bag a try!

Albackore Bag
Posted by Allan Isaac on Saturday, 16-Mar-2002 at 10:09:41
Picked one of these bags up at the FH show last week. Though I have not had a chance to fish with it yet the bag apprears to be outstanding. Very well thought out and the materials used are top notch. The bag also has additional tabs and straps which gives you the ability to let you customize it to your way of fishing. Originaly my thought was this was a overnight bag, but I've changed my opinion on this to an easy 3 day and very possible more.

Albackore Fishing Tackle Bag
Posted by Dan Anderson on Saturday, 16-Mar-2002 at 07:37:26
The Albackore Tackle Bag is one the most outstanding
new products available to anglers. I have used a
massive soft side tackle bag for years that was hard
to carry on and off fishing boats. The Albackore bag solves
my problem of hauling uneven weight. I now have an
extra hand to carry other items while still being
in control of my tackle. I highly recomend this product
and will brag about it to my fellow anglers.

my opinion on the albackore bag
Posted by Alex Dang on Saturday, 16-Mar-2002 at 02:21:49
at first glance, the albackore bag seemed nothing more than a large complex backpack. the trays and other compartments are hardly noticeable. upon inspection, the bag is alot more than a backpack. it amazed me how they fit SIX 3600size trays into the bag and throw an acessories compartment on top, yet make it look so subtle. in my opinion, this bag may have revolutionized soft tackle bags forever. its way easier and more comfortable to bare the load on the shoulders than carrying with the arms or have a strap go across the chest. im in highschool and have to lug pounds of books around, so trust me on this one.
