Bear Lake Wilderness Camp

Bear Lake Wilderness Camp
Our private / remote 6 acre island in Killarney Wilderness Park (40 miles square) is your starting point for 7 days of possibly the finest fishing or hunting you will ever experience. 5 modern lake front cottages await you at the end of a "hard" day fishing for Lake Trout, Pike, Walleye, and Bass. Or spend your day exploring the wilderness, canoeing or hunting for upland fowl or that Big Game Trophy.

Bear Lake, it's a Family Thing
Posted by Jay Dreischarf on Tuesday, 02-Apr-2002 at 22:28:10
My father, brother and I have been coming to Bear Lake for years, it is by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We love the surroundings, the camp and the fishing. Every year we have a contest for the First, Biggest and Most, and if you haven't caught a Pike in the 30inch and up range you aren't going to be in the hunt. The lakes are absolutely gorgeous, and the fish are abundunt. We are counting down the days until our next visit.

Excellent Hunting / Exceptional Fishing
Posted by Jimmy Dennis on Monday, 04-Mar-2002 at 07:34:56
I really enjoyed my stay at Bear Lake. I took a nice bear within the first couple of days on my stand. Then I experienced some unbelievable fishing with smallmouths. I also caught some nice pike. My party had an exceptional time. The atmosphere at Bear Lake is so pristine with the clear lakes and the clean refreshing air. I didn't want to leave. It is hard to believe all the accommodations at such a remote location. After I get my bear this year, I want to try the walleye action and visit some more of the beautiful portage lakes.

Bear Lake - Picture Perfect
Posted by Stewart Fischer on Thursday, 28-Feb-2002 at 22:27:19
I went to Bear Lake the first week of September 2001 with a friend. We went to hunt black bear. We got to much more than hunt! The hunting was great and we were treated like kings. The other guests were very friendly and everyone was always ready to offer a helping hand. The fishing was outstanding, and I plan on returning with my son to do nothing but fish. I was able to capture many different types of wildlife on video. There were of course a couple of bear, but also moose and beavers. I saw so many birds I can not list them all here, but was able to photo several grourse. Bill, Kim and the entire staff worked very hard to make sure everything was perfect. Dave is one great cook! We really enjoyed the fish fry. I will be taking another group up to Bear Lake this year for a bow hunt. Let you know how big the bear are, Stu

Bear Lake for 45 years.

I've been going up to Bear Lake for 45 years, which probably makes me the senior customer of BLWC. Over the years I've hiked the trails, fished the lakes, and climbed the mountains with my father, son, and brother-in-law. I've never been in a more beautiful, relaxing setting and hope to continue enjoying BLWC for many more years. I am convinced that new owners Bill and Kim Drane will make the camp even better than it has been in the past. And as far as I am concerned its already the best.

Bear Lake Wilderness Camp

Growing up, we always took family vacations to some of the so called "hot spots" for fishing, and I've always wanted to repay the favor to them. Bear Lake Wilderness Camp provided the perfect opportunity to do it. In addition to the fantastic scenery, and warm hospitality from our hosts, the fishing was outstanding! Of all the trips I've ever taken with my parents, I can honestly say this is the only one where everyone caught lots of fish, and at least one lunker apiece. We caught several smallmouth and largemouths in the 4+ lb. range, too many panfish and smaller bass to count, and one 30" pike on an ultralight spinning outfit that proved to be a battle for all of us in the boat. It was truly a trip to remember, and one we plan to do again in 2002.
