I am 45 years old and have been watching outdoorsman's shows since Curt Gowdy's "The American Sportsman" when I was a boy, and Don Meissner's "Streamside" is my favorite. Don presents fishing in a cheerful way. Too many fishing shows take fishing so seriously that the activity has a grim aspect.
I have not seen this show in a long time as my television provider no longer carries it, but that is how it was half a dozen years ago.

Hi, Brian and all - I recently had an opportunity to meet and fish with Don Meissner. I was also a dedicated an loyal fan of his for many years. I started many a morning watching Don on the telly. I admit I was slightly star-struck when I met him, but that faded quickly because of his very friendly nature. Turns out that everything we ever figured about Don being a great guy is very true.
Long story short, I'm working with Don now to produce an online program of fishing video called, "Fishing with Don Meissner". We're currently posting episodes on my own site at http://billhaenel.com, but soon we'll have a site just for Don where we'll put all his new material.
If you've ever enjoyed watching Don, you'd enjoy working and fishing with him even more. He is a truly and genuinely good-natured fellow, and I consider it a real privilege to be help him out with his new video and blog projects.
